It felt strange enough to be in such a foreign environment, where so few students smiled back or tried to speak with him. Not even a passing comment was made in his direction, as though they hadn't been adequately prepared on how to deal with something that didn't fit into the nature of their world. He was an unexpected guest, a last minute change that was never mentioned in their script. So to avoid messing up, no student dared to step away from their character. Hayami didn't like it at all. While he had begun his position at Amanogawa purely in title, the role had grown on him over time and he felt himself at least somewhat protective of his students. There was nothing comfortable about any of this. It felt immensely fake.
Though Hayami had been wondering what to do after reaching the entrance to the school, he stopped as soon as he heard someone calling to him. Turning to his right, he spotted a single student, the only one to have truly acknowledged his presence since arriving. It only made sense that the student had spoken when Hayami learned what the other's role was, his expression darkening slightly at being summoned. As much as this school belonged to Aries, Hayami didn't enjoy being ordered around by anyone, perhaps with the exception of the chairman. Trailing behind the student, Hayami cast glances into some of the classrooms he passed by. Other than the tense air, the school seemed to function normally, but the negative feeling in the air almost sunk into his skin. It was all far too strange.
Hayami arrived at the Music Room just behind the student, who Hayami then walked past before starting to approach his disciple. As Yamada had planned, the setting had helped to put Hayami a bit on edge. He clasped his hands calmly behind his back, a smile on his face as he looked back to make sure the student was gone before he started speaking. "The air here is quite heavy, Yamada-kun."
